Capitol Hill Kids Events Calendar (Summer 2026)
The summer of 2026 features an expansive lineup of kid-friendly activities, storytimes, and community celebrations across Capitol Hill, the National Mall, and the Navy Yard. Adding to the extensive neighborhood and library offerings, several new museum exhibitions, musical celebrations, and historical gallery openings are taking place in the heart of the district this July.
Key highlights added this cycle include a new experiential research gallery for kids and teens at the Library of Congress, a special Bluegrass celebration at the National Postal Museum, and a dedicated July 4th morning program at the National Archives.
"Kids and teens can explore The Source, a new experiential research gallery at the Library of Congress designed to bring primary sources to life.
