Puka Nacua Faces New Abuse Allegations From Ex-Girlfriend Amid Looming NFL Suspension Verdict
The off-field legal and personal troubles for Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua have intensified. On Sunday night, August 30, 2026, Nacua's ex-girlfriend, Hallie Aiono, posted a highly publicized TikTok video detailing "extreme betrayal" and "abuse" during their four-year relationship, which began when they met as students at BYU in 2021.
Aiono, who is the mother of Nacua's son Kingston, explained in her video that she is seeking professional mental health treatment to cope with the trauma of their relationship:
"I went from loving somebody so deeply for four years, I felt it in my bones, to experiencing extreme betrayal, abuse, complete neglect from them, in what felt like it happened almost overnight... A lot of the things that were public affected my mental health. But honestly, the things that were happening in private are what completely crushed me and altered my brain chemistry. Those parts, what people never saw, or know of, are what broke me."
While Aiono's video focused on her mental health and did not specify individual criminal acts, her public use of the word "abuse" has amplified scrutiny on Nacua's personal conduct. Nacua is already fighting a high-profile civil lawsuit filed in LA County Superior Court by Madison Atiabi. The lawsuit accuses Nacua of assault, battery, gender violence, and negligence, alleging that he bit her shoulder during a New Year's Eve party.
The NFL has been conducting an active review of Nacua's offseason conduct under its Personal Conduct Policy. Although the league opted not to place Nacua on the Commissioner's Exempt List to start the season—making him eligible to practice and play—a final disciplinary suspension decision is still looming. The Rams are scheduled to open their 2026 regular season on September 10 against the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, leaving Nacua's travel and playing status highly uncertain.
