This massive 753-billion-parameter open-weight model is released under an MIT license and features a 1-million-token context window. Built specifically for long-horizon coding and agentic engineering, GLM-5.2 delivers near-frontier performance to local developer environments at a fraction of the cost¹ of proprietary US models, intensifying the ongoing AI price war.

To support its aggressive pursuit of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and global expansion, Z.ai successfully completed a massive $4 billion secondary share sale (raising around HK$31.41 billion) in Hong Kong. GLM-5.2 is designed specifically to target the high-volume, high-cost developer workloads that generate the bulk of enterprise API revenue for US labs. On the SWE-bench Pro benchmark, which measures real-world software bug resolution, GLM-5.2 scored 62.1, surpassing OpenAI's GPT-5.5 (58.6) and positioning itself just behind Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.8 (69.2).
