Johnson & Johnson Acquires Firefly Bio for $1 Billion to Secure Next-Gen "Degrader Antibody Conjugate" Platform

Targeting KRAS-Driven Tumors
The primary near-term focus of the acquisition is the development of therapies targeting KRAS-driven solid tumors1, which represent some of the most prevalent and difficult-to-treat cancers globally:

This addresses a major limitation of current small-molecule KRAS inhibitors, which often suffer from resistance mutations and off-target toxicity.
Overcoming the "Undruggable" Barrier
For decades, KRAS was considered an intractable target in oncology. Despite recent approvals of first-generation KRAS G12C inhibitors, the broader class of pan-KRAS mutations remains a critical area of unmet medical need:
