Mark the 50th anniversary of the American Folklife Center with activities, displays, and a new exhibition, "Alive in Many Hands: 50 Years of the American Folklife Center." The exhibition and Family Day programming will explore American folklife through the themes of foodways, work, play, and place. Special guests Los Herederos will bring their Sonicycle, a mobile audiovisual station, for live DJ sets broadcast on LH Radio. Attendees can share their favorite music, memories, and stories through brief radio interviews recorded on-site.
Cost: Free, but timed-entry passes are required for the Thomas Jefferson Building. Ages: All ages (primarily designed for kids and their families).
